Interviw with Hari from Village by the Sea

This is the 4th blog post for the online lesson on term 2 week 4. (Linguistic)

c)Interview transcript:

Me: Hello Hari. How was life at Bombay? Is it better as compared to life at Thul.

Hari: Umm... Life at Bombay was tough but as compared to life at Thul, it was much better.

Me: Then, did you go to Bombay to support that the factories should not be built or did you go to Bombay to get a job.

Hari: Erm... At first I went to Bombay to support the factories should not be built but afterwards when I found out I could not do much, I decided to get a job and earn some money before going back.

Me: Then, when you learnt that your mother's illness got worse and your dog was dead why did you leave Thul and go to Bombay, leaving your sisters to settle everything at home?

Hari: (went silent for a moment)... I do not wish to answer that question.

Me: Sorry, but I got 1 last question for you. What do you intend to do if your plan for the future failed.

Hari: I will try and try again until I manage to succeed.

Me: Okay that is all. Thank You.

Hari: Thank you too.

Pictures of Lila in Different scene

This blog entry is the 3rd one for the online lesson in Term 2 week 4 (Bodily/Kinesthetic)

a)

Sources:clipart

I chose this picture as it matches the scene of which a girl is offering flowers to a rock. The girl represents Lila who is praying when offering flowers to the rock.

b)

sources:forum.prisonplanet.com,commons.wikimedia.org

I chose this picture because it shows a girl begging to a afghan man. The girl represent Lila and the afghan man represents the medicine man.

Journal entry from Lila

This is the second blog entry for the online class on Term 2 week 4 (Intrapersonal)

Dear Diary,

I feel lost and helpless. I want to tell everything to somebody but I have nobody to talk to. That is why I am writing to you, to tell you all about my troubles.

Today, Hari left the house very early. He doesn't leave the house that early before. Now noon, he haven't come back yet. I am worried for him. Yesterday, Pinto died. He was a good dog. It was all the twins' fault. They killed Pinto. They poisoned him just because Father never pay off his debt. Its all Father's fault. He caused the whole family to suffer. Ever since he started drinking toddy, he has been coming home owing people lots of money. He sold his boat to pay off his debt. He sold his ox to pay his debt. Now everyday, he wakes up at night and goes straight to the toddy shop to drink. He caused us all the trouble. It is because of him that we could not earn more money. It was because of him we do not have enough money to treat Mother. This is all his fault...

Lila

Ambient Music for a scene in the first 5 chapter of the Village by the Sea

This is the LA online lesson for Term 2 week 4(Musical/Rhythemitic).

a) I chose the music "sadness and sorrow"for the scene at the end of chapter 4 where Pinto, Lila's dog died of poison. The song has a very sad tune which makes you want to cry which therefore matches the scene where Pinto dies because that scene is also very sad. Also this song could be used for the scene where they found out their mother's illness got worse(in the middle of chapter 4) or where Hari left his house for Bombay (at the end of chapter 5)

The music is legally online and the website is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGoOtSPMQlc
