Lesson 1: Plagiarism
I think that plagiarism is about somebody copying someone else's work and taking credit for it. Such actions are against the copyright laws and are illegal. Most students plagiarise because they are lazy to do the work and decided to copy someone else's work and hand it in as their's. Plagiarizing is different from paraphrasing. Plagiarizing is completely copying every single word and taking credit for it while paraphrasing is understanding a text and rephrase it with your own words. You could also copy and paste a text into part of your work but you cannot say it is your work. You must cite it to say you copied it from somewhere and is not your own work.Examples of plagiarism is handing in projects that were directly copied from somewhere and stating that it is your work.
